The Stadler company has been involved in the construction of rail vehicles for over 75 years and they operate also in Poland. They decided to modernize the existing lighting system in their production halls to improve the working conditions. The Swiss rolling stock manufacturer focused on the high standard and reliability of its products, using the greatest technological achievements in production. Stadler offers a comprehensive and professional service and delivers its product to many European countries. They first asked about one of our products and then commissioned us to modernize their lighting system, replacing the existing luminaires and installing an intelligent control system.

What has Stadler achieved thanks to the modernization of lighting?

UGR

Low glare

Ikona systemu sterowania oświetleniem DALI - Luxon LED

Smart lighting control system

Ikona 5 lat gwarancji na oświetlenie - Luxon LED

5 years warranty

The biggest challenge was to design the lighting so as to maintain the required intensity at two working heights, despite the changing conditions in the hall in the form of rotation of wagons and changing distances between them.

Challange

Replacement of luminaires on existing cable routes. Which luminaires can be used to improve the standard, reduce costs and improve aesthetics at the same time?

The order required us to modernize the lighting system in the production hall without changing the existing wiring. This meant that the luminaires had to be replaced 1 to 1, using the existing mounting points. What’s more, the customer’s goal was to have highly aesthetic luminaires that also improve the lighting conditions in the building. The requirements involved also the automation of the lighting system, using remote control adjustable to the plant’s operating mode. The room needed better lighting. The final effect was supposed to significantly improve the workplace standards, while the replacement of the luminaires and their automation had to lead to reduce the costs of energy consumptions in the building.

Implementation and solution

Individual solutions: highly aesthetic luminaires and low UGR with an intelligent control system

We suggested using the Ultima DBL fittings as a tailor-made solution for the customer, who expected both the improvement of working conditions and the high aesthetic look of the luminaires. We chose luminaires with a low glare to improve work comfort. What’s more, they are resistant to high temperatures and adapted to work with the modern DALI control system. The choice of Ultima DBL allowed us also to improve the lighting conditions in the hall using the existing cable routes. The control system we used allows for the division of lighting into zones, working and dimming automatically.
