Comprehensive modernization of the lighting system at the Swiss Krono plant using dedicated LED luminaires.
The lighting modernization project at the Swiss Krono plant involved replacing over 5,000 lighting luminaires with modern, energy-efficient LED light sources. An advanced lighting control system was implemented, allowing the adjustment of its parameters to specific production and office conditions. The modernization was carried out without interrupting the plant’s operations, which was crucial due to the continuous production process.

The client approached Luxon with the need to modernize the lighting to increase energy efficiency, improve working conditions, and adapt the lighting system to the challenging conditions in the plant, such as high temperature and dust. The key challenge was the need to carry out the installation without interrupting the plant’s operations, which required a precise schedule and appropriate technology selection.
Lighting concept
As part of the concept, we decided to replace the fixtures in a 1:1 system, so each old lamp was replaced with a new, modern LED fixture. Our R&D department customized the products in terms of resistance to high temperatures and dust to meet the technical requirements of the project.
The extensive assortment included basic, emergency, and outdoor lighting sources. We primarily used dedicated Ultima SWISS KRONO LED and Ultima LED HT luminaires, as well as Industrial LED, EDGE, and Cordoba. This investment includes over 5,000 new light sources made in LED technology: basic lighting: 4,392 luminaires, emergency lighting: 677 luminaires.

Scope of cooperation
We started the cooperation with a detailed inventory and audit of the existing lighting, which allowed us to accurately identify the areas requiring modernization. The audit showed that the installation was in good condition, which allowed the modernization to be carried out in a 1:1 replacement system, without the need to interfere with the building structure.
After completing the audit, the Luxon R&D department began customizing the fixtures, adapting the products to the specific requirements of Swiss Krono, such as installation method and resistance to high temperatures. A key element of the modernization was the implementation of a control system based on the DALI protocol, which enabled automated lighting management depending on the plant’s needs. The installation was carried out in stages, adapted to the uninterrupted operation of the plant, which minimized disruptions in its functioning.
