Case study PEC Starogard

New Lighting for the Heating Plant in Poland

The company PEC is the leading supplier of thermal energy in the city, employing around 100 staff and responsible for 14 local gas boiler plants. Additionally, the company is environmentally friendly, with renewable energy accounting for 33.9% of its heat production. The precisely identified needs and requirements of the client were an extremely important factor for us, helping us create a design that met all the client’s expectations. The luminaires were selected based on information gathered during several meetings with the chief electrician, who supervised the project from a technical standpoint.

Client:

Heating Plant PEC

Type of Facility:

The outdoor area of the plant, the nearby municipal road

Industry:

High-voltage power lines

Requirements:

Adjustment of the luminaires to evenly illuminate the municipal road adjacent to the plant

Operational Characteristics:

Compliance with EU regulations

Challenges:

Effective efficiency of the luminaires

Safety for people moving around the plant area

Even illumination of the nearby municipal road

Reduction of energy consumption

The client provided us with very detailed requirements regarding the lighting, which was to be created for better illumination of the plant area. The focus was on the efficiency of the luminaires while expecting a reduction in energy costs, which necessitated the installation of energy-saving light sources with above-average efficiency. The new lighting was also supposed to ensure the safety of people moving around the plant area. Particularly significant were areas potentially accessible to non-plant personnel, such as those near the fence. However, the biggest challenge for us was choosing luminaires that would evenly illuminate the public road directly next to PEC.

Lighting design concept

Considering the client’s requirements and based on our extensive experience in road lighting design, our planning department created a design that met all the client’s specifications and the toughest challenges. For the even illumination of the road, we chose Cordoba V ENEC luminaires with high efficiency, allowing us to use only one light point to illuminate a wide area. The luminaires are characterized by the AstroDIM function, which, together with the specially designed lens, ensures optimal light distribution. The lighting reduces power consumption by up to 1440 W. The quality of the luminaires is confirmed by the ENEC certificate.
