Case Study Twinings
The modernization of lighting in the Twinings production hall and warehouses aimed to reduce energy consumption, improve working conditions, and meet the strict standards of the food industry.
Twinings, a renowned tea manufacturer, approached Luxon LED with the need to modernize the lighting in its production facility in Swarzędz. The company wanted to reduce energy costs and improve working conditions in the production hall and warehouses. The challenge was the unique structure of the suspended ceiling in the hall, which required designing special LED luminaires. The modernization also covered warehouses, where the number of luminaires was significantly reduced thanks to the use of modern LED solutions.

Compliance with lighting standards for food production
Reducing energy consumption and increasing light intensity
Twinings needed LED lighting that would reduce energy costs while meeting high food industry standards. The main challenge was the specific structure of the suspended ceiling, which required the design of custom luminaires. The existing installation had large luminaires with insufficient light intensity, which did not meet internal production standards.

Lighting Concept
As part of the modernization, special Highbay LED luminaires were designed and used, perfectly suited to the specific conditions in the production hall. As a result, light intensity increased from 300 to 450 lx, ensuring compliance with food production standards. In warehouses, the number of luminaires was reduced from 1200 to around 250, which contributed to significant energy savings while maintaining high lighting quality.

Scope of Cooperation
The cooperation began with a thorough inventory of the existing lighting in the production hall and warehouses. The audit revealed that the existing luminaires did not meet the lighting standards for food production. The project involved designing dedicated LED luminaires and adapting them to specific structural requirements, including installation in the suspended ceiling.
In the warehouses, a luminaire reduction system was implemented, reducing the number of luminaires from 1200 to around 250, while maintaining high light intensity. The luminaires were adapted to the existing cable layout, speeding up the installation process and minimizing disruptions to the facility’s operations. The installation was carried out in stages, allowing the work schedule to be flexibly adjusted to the specific production needs.
